Butterflies are eye-catchers regardless of where they are, even paper ones. Allison recently gave me three paper butterflies to make a mobile for Blake's room. This is what it turned into. I'll show you a couple more views at the end. But first I want to show you how I made it. Quite Simple actually.
I began with two blue butterflies and one green, some blue lace and blue string. The green one already had some ribbon hanging from it, so it was pretty much ready to go.
I attached the blue lace to each of the blue butterflies. I used a very small dab of hot glue and it was perfect.
At first, I was going to use a piece of wood as the base for the mobile, but after looking at the green butterfly, I realized that it would serve as a base for the smaller butterflies. I tied some blue string to each of the blue butterflies and attached it to the green one. To ensure balance, one was attached to the front and one to the back. I also staggered the height as well.
Couldn't resist the antique look.
What a beautiful mobile. Much better then those store bought ones!
